Use Sepia to give your photos an old fashioned look. Select [Filter | Sepia] to add this effect to your image.
Pictures are often dark or underexposed. By using the Auto Levels feature, the brightness and contrast levels can be adjusted to improve picture quality.
FotoCanvas supports ACD Image plug-ins. There are 14 compatible image formats. If you are running ACDSee, FotoCanvas will support over 40 image formats!
The Exposure feature can be used to enhance images that are either too dark or too light.
The Rotate command turns an image by a desired angle.
The "skinned" appearance of the on-screen controls can be turned off by selecting [View | Options | Interface] and then clearing the [Windows/toolbar pattern] checkbox.
FotoCanvas's image filters only apply to truecolor (24 bit) images. If a desired effect is not available, convert the image to Truecolor. Click [Color | Truecolor].
You can use the mouse wheel to navigate around your image. Using the mouse wheel will scroll up or down. Holding down <Ctrl> scrolls left or right and holding down <Shift> scrolls up and down fast.
You can open more than one FotoCanvas window. Click [File menu | Open] to select an image, or [File | New] to create a new image.
Panel Help provides a short description of the tool when you hover the mouse over it. When you click a button to use the tool, a brief explanation of the steps to use the tool is provided.
To maintain image quality when resizing, use a setting of 66% or 50%.
Cropping helps to remove extra color from the edges of scanned images.
The toolbars and Panel Help can all be moved or docked by holding the bar at the end of the window and moving the object where you would like it.
Right-click on a toolbar to bring up the customization menu. If you add too many buttons to the toolbar, change to small buttons, or create a floating toolbar and resize it to fit the screen.
Click [File | Revert] to load the latest saved image with no changes.
